Jerry Childs is an alumnus of Loyola Law School (Juris Doctor, 2001) and the University of California, Santa Barbara (BA, Political Science, 1996). He has assisted in the defense and prosecution of civil litigation cases, including personal injury, real estate, contracts, medical practice, and toxic torts; family law issues such as dissolutions, child custody and support actions, and administrative law matters involving professional licensure and unlawful detainers.

Jerry believes strongly in being candid with his clients. He'll tell you up front if your case can be won, if compromise will be necessary, and when a legal battle is not worth the financial outlay and emotional strain it will cost you. He never makes promises he can't fulfill and prides himself on keeping clients fully informed about both the positive and negative aspects of their cases.

Professionalism and cordiality toward opposing counsel are Jerry's preferred strategy. "It's far better - and cheaper! - than strong-arm tactics or useless posturing..." Jerry observes. "When other attorneys understand that you can be trusted to act ethically and openly, almost invariably the case becomes easier."

Before joining his wife, Erin M. Rhames, as co-owner of this law firm, Jerry worked with Wilkins, Drolshagen & Czeshinski, LLP; the Law Offices of Richard Reinjohn, Los Angeles; and Smith, Smith & Harter. He has also served in the U.S. Army Reserve, achieving the rank of Captain.
